Asian In-Flight Magazines

There are more than 65 in-flight magazines from 55+ Asian airlines in The In-Flight Magazines Report, and this number has been growing with each edition.

That's not really a big surprise because the number of airline passengers flying to and from Asia each year is growing too!

Most of these magazines are published in English but some are published in Chinese, Japanese, and other Asian languages.

Examples of Asian In-Flight Magazines

Here are some examples of the Asian in-flight magazines listed in The In-Flight Magazines Report: Bangkok Airways' Fahthai,  Cebu Pacific's Smile, and Cathay Pacific's Discovery.

What Content do Asian In-Flight Magazines Contain?

In-flight magazines publish travel content, of course, but they also offer a diverse range of content that includes general interest pieces as well as articles on business, entertainment, health, and lifestyle.

With almost every article, there is some connection to one of the destinations to which the airline flies.

The Current Outlook for Asian Travel & In-Flight Magazines in Asia

According to the International Air Transport Association's  (IATA) Air Passenger Monthly Results Report - Dec 2015, global air passenger traffic grew by 6.5% in 2015. This is the fastest pace of growth since the big rebound which followed the Global Financial Crisis in 2010.

According to IATA, air passenger traffic on airlines in the Asia Pacific region grew by 8.2% from the previous year and accounted for one-third of the total annual increase in international traffic in 2015.

"A 7.3% increase in the number of direct airport connections within the Asia region during 2015 helped to stimulate demand by translating into time savings for passengers, and helped to
offset the negative impacts of slower growth in many of the region’s economies."

Domestic travel was up too, with India and China leading the way with double-digit annual growth.

With growth like this, there should be plenty of passengers reading Asian inflight magazines over the year ahead.
